To all who have loved RoK,

It is with a sad heart that I have finally reached a point where I feel I must write this letter, but then these are sad times. For those of you who have been away, or wake infrequently, an ancient battle between the gods has re-awoken, The bronze god Drakon, chained for ages by Miranda to protect humanity, once more walks the world. He was freed with aid from our own leader, Brisingr - against the direct orders of High Queen Cordelia and his sworn promise to members of his guild.

By Drakon’s own words he would see humans who do not follow him enslaved, placed under the rule of those who do. He is willing to use brute force in humanity’s subjugation, and indeed already has. Not only does our leader still support him, he stood by as the lands were attacked by this entity and ignored our please for help, even as his fellow adventurers found their death again and again and again.

Brisingr has arisen as one of Drakon’s greatest and most loyal supporters, holding meetings and ceremonies to strengthen him. He does this despite the wishes and pleading of guild officers. Indeed he does not seem to take any council from his guild or show interest in leading it (or anything else beyond Drakon). RoK has dwindled from its past glory, the halls now empty and silent. It is becoming equated with a man who seeks to betray humanity. Is this then to be RoK’s end?

I have thought long and hard about leaving, but RoK is the only home I have ever known. She is steeped in a rich and respected history and deserves to be fought for. RoK is more than any one person, and should not be dragged down this path by one person. Brisingr needs to turn from this path he is intent upon and resume his duties and responsibilities as leader of RoK, or he needs to step down.

And so I beg of you, current members, past members, and any who hold RoK in high regards. Please speak with Bris, perhaps you will have better luck than I. Do not let RoK go silently, do not let her fade away into but one more footnote, and a tainted one at that. And if he will not listen, let us gather together to elect new leadership, and bring the matter to the queen.

Regretfully,

Viviyana

*scribbled note*

This is not a matter for a public venue. Viviyana's concerns and Bris' response belong to guild members alone, as does the discussion that must follow.

I feel it has been discussed often with no result among those guild members who do wake. A meeting would be good, should other members wish to join in.

I think a guild meeting might be constructive. I would attend.

I agree with Synvasti that this should be a private meeting within the guild. I will try to attend. Blaze's public discussion in the Dundee Inn is not at a time I can conceivably attend.

*Tacks up another notice, "I have made my intent publicly known. Ask around or ask me if you wish to know my... choice. I will say no further here... we can move this discussion further within our halls and have a meeting that is long over due."*

I seem to have been asleep for much longer than I had wanted but healing and mind, body, and soul I needed.

(Was having a hard time coming to grips with some of my characters background getting effective erased. I'll need to salvage what I can and move on if not I'll just need to rewrite it in a way that doesn't angry the gods.)

Where to begin? everything is in tatters and your now playing for the other team the king would be ashamed of your actions.

(you'll have to forgive for my rp text etiquette been a long time with not so much of a word from me I joined a while ago when I left last it was due to well RP issues with what my character has seen, heard, and done in rp text though some of the admins weren't too receptive on that subject. I came back to basically see how the game was going and see who was still on might get my rp bio together piece something up and play again. One things for sure I don't want to see the guild go if that's what this is about way too many memories here and wonderful people and sotry experiences even if some people don't reconize it, it still happened.)

(once again sorry for the misdirection of the topic and well you know)

(( Hello! smile.gif RoK is actually pretty fine, comparably (there is a smaller base now so no guilds have the strength they used to - everyone plays with everyone and most events are collaboration between people from different guilds). This was a storyline that had an almost civil war quality to it, admin was careful not to truly reveal which 'god' was in the right. In fact they stuck enough philosophical wondering in there to still make the right and wrong of things hazy. No black and white, just grey lol One side sought a peaceful perfect world full of learning and ancient knowledge. The other side freewill and the chaos it brings. Viv and Bris were on different sides and posted this after admin started to reveal their hand...if any of that makes sense in the least! It was sort of hoped that it might snag the interest of old RoKers or former RoKers that might pop in wink.gif

I've only been playing for three years, but have been told some past rules were rather stifling. I don't know the details of course, but I can almost guarantee that you will find DG a much more free atmosphere. Players are also allowed a lot more ability to shape story lines and the world. This storyline was a good example of what they will allow now. Some of it was a hard transition on players but I think as a community we came through pretty strong!

I'm excited to get to know you and welcome back smile.gif ))

We are planning a guild meeting, it would be good if you could attend.

((Sounds like alot has been going on good to hear events are still in the game. I have been off and on since 2005 so it's been jarring to say the least came back three or 4 years ago for a bit kinda had a falling out with some stuff. I don't like giving stuff up so definately needed time to cool off was pretty angry cause it basically took everything away since I played and basically took the joy out of it.))
